Move Your Mythology

Create Your Own Gods, Goddesses, Worlds & Dances

Across the world, people have used mythology to explore enormous questions: Why does the sun rise? Where do storms come from? What gives us courage, and why do humans transform? In this imaginative dance and storytelling studio, students encounter gods, goddesses, spirits, heroes, and mythical creatures from cultures around the world within their own cultural contexts. They explore how movement, gesture, rhythm, costume, and symbolism bring different powers and personalities to life. Students then become mythmakers themselves, inventing an original deity or mythological being with a name, domain, symbols, relationships, home, strengths, contradictions, and way of moving. Students are encouraged to imagine what gods and goddesses from different cultures might say to one another, how they might respond to each other's powers and perspectives, and what new story could emerge from their interaction. Through creative writing, visual design, improvisation, and choreography, they build an original mythology and embody it through dance.

Little Books, Lived Wisdom

Passing on Lessons with Love in a Children's Book

What wisdom would you give your younger self or a loved one? Students reflect on how they have overcome life's challenges and transform their lessons into a beautiful story with narrative, characters, and illustration. Through linguistic play, plot development, deep reflection, and visual artistry, students leave with a body of work that they can cherish for years to come and the experience of transforming their endless growth into loving guidance.

Practice Serenity

Meditation and Mindfulness for Beginners

A weekly space for students and educators to pause, breathe, and return to themselves in community. Each gathering introduces accessible practices such as guided meditation, breathwork, mindful movement, sensory grounding, visualization, silence, and reflective conversation. Students develop a personal collection of tools for meeting stress, navigating emotion, sustaining attention, and reconnecting with the body. Rather than asking everyone to become calm in the same way, Grounding Together honors the many forms that regulation and presence can take. Practiced collectively, mindfulness becomes not only an inward experience but a shared rhythm of care woven into the life of the community.

Neural Networks & Neurons

Conversations Between Thinking Minds & Thinking Machines

What does it mean to learn? Students investigate this question by placing biological and artificial neural networks in dialogue. They explore how neurons communicate, how experience strengthens and reshapes connections in the brain, and how memory, emotion, attention, and embodiment influence human learning. Alongside this biology, students examine how artificial neural networks adjust mathematical weights, recognize patterns, make predictions, and learn from data. The course ultimately asks not only how humans and machines learn, but what understanding, intelligence, and learning mean.

Illustration Illumination in Science

Drawing Beginner Science into Life

Children use simple shapes, drawing, and imaginative storytelling to explore beginner science. A concept such as the water cycle becomes tangible as a cloud transforms into rain, a river, and the ocean. Art gives each child a playful way to visualize, remember, and express what they discover.

Earth Cultivation

Food, Fiber, Shelter, and Medicine from the Living Land

How does the Earth provide what humans need to eat, wear, build, create, and heal? Students explore the journey from living ecosystems to the materials of everyday life: growing food, transforming plants into fibers and natural dyes, building with earth and other renewable materials, and learning about the traditional uses of medicinal plants. Hands-on projects in gardening, weaving, natural building, and plant-based making are enriched by excursions to local farms, homesteads, gardens, and community spaces. Through relationships with growers, land stewards, fiber artists, herbalists, and natural builders, students encounter the living knowledge held within their wider community. The course invites learners to see sustainability not only as using fewer resources, but as cultivating reciprocal relationships with the land and the people who care for it.

Biomedical Perspectives on Traditional Flavors

Food, Culture & the Science of Human Health

Traditional flavor profiles are shaped through generations of cooking, observation, and embodied knowledge. Their ingredients do not only taste beautiful together; many combinations also carry an intuitive wisdom about nourishment and human health. Through hands-on cooking and biomedical inquiry, students investigate the science beneath flavor profiles from around the world. Students learn to recognize cuisine as a living inheritance—one in which flavor preserves generations of cultural memory and care for the body.

Reimagined Fashion

Creativity, Sustainability, and Wearable Design

Students transform pre-loved clothing into original outfits through sewing, embellishment, painting, and creative redesign. In an age where fast fashion and wasteful wearing are on the rise, students experiment with thoughtful repurposing, turning overlooked materials into some of the most stylish and one-of-a-kind pieces in their wardrobe.

Chakras in Dialogue with Biological Systems

Exploring Traditional Energy Maps Alongside Anatomy and Physiology

This class explores each biological system through scientific and traditional perspectives, pairing anatomy and physiology with chakra energy maps. Students investigate how organs, nerves, hormones, and bodily processes sustain life alongside how chakra traditions describe energy, emotion, awareness, and embodied experience. Held side by side, these understandings illuminate one another and invite a more expansive relationship with our living bodies and selves.

Painting the Invisible

Visualizing Space, Time, and Higher Dimensions

Abstract ideas of mathematics and physics are given space to arrive in tangibility through imaginative visual art. Students explore concepts such as higher dimensions, relativity of time, different orders of infinity, and the curvature of space-time. By visualizing the unseen, they form a unique and personal relationship to underlying guiding forces of our reality. Colors, shapes, and emotion become tools for understanding the universe.

Sculpting Stories

Stories on a String, Charm by Charm

Some stories are written with words; others begin in the palm of your hand. Students tell a story one tiny sculpture at a time, creating a collection of polymer-clay charms that represent its characters, settings, emotions, and transformative moments. Like a personal string of hieroglyphs, each handmade bead becomes a symbol or chapter before being strung together as a bracelet, necklace, or miniature sculptural narrative. Along the way, students explore symbolism, sequencing, color, texture, character development, and the ways objects can carry memory and meaning. Their finished jewelry becomes both a wearable work of art and a story that can be shared, remembered, and carried close.

CODE a la MODE

Screen-Free Coding Through Movement, Games, and Play

Toddlers and preschoolers explore coding without screens through movement, games, sorting, sequencing, and playful directions. Children practice noticing patterns, predicting what comes next, breaking actions into steps, and working together to solve small logic challenges.

Musical Math

Counting, Patterns, and Arithmetic Through Music and Movement

Children learn mathematical ideas through music, instruments, rhythm, and full-body play. Counting becomes movement, patterns become songs, and beginner concepts such as addition, fractions, shapes, and multiplication take root through joyful repetition and embodied exploration.

CreatureBot Creators

Design, Build, & Code Your Own Robotic Creature!

In this fun robotics studio, students imagine, design, build, and program an original CreatureBot with its own movement and personality. Students combine robotics, sculpture, textiles, and mixed-media art to invent expressive creations powered by motors, sensors, lights, and code. Along the way, they investigate engineering design, electronics, programming, mechanics, and creative problem-solving. Elementary and middle school students build confidence through LEGO Robotics, while high school students dive deeper into Arduino microcontrollers, custom circuitry, sensors, and open-ended engineering design to create fully original robotic creations.

Warrior I

Strength and Movement Expression Through Yoga, Bharatanatyam, and Weightlifting

A practice in strength and movement expression blending yoga, Bharatanatyam, and weightlifting. Deep postures meet grounded resistance training, then expand through expressive movement, abhinaya, and storytelling. Mudras hold their own energetic significance while shaping the meaning and emotional quality of each gesture. Woven into yoga poses and strengthening sequences, they bring bhava—felt state and emotion—into the form, supporting both physical alignment and expressive intention. Each class cultivates strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, and a body powerful enough to hold weight, fluid enough to transform, and present enough to speak.

Bharatanatyam & Mythology

Ancient Stories & Wisdom Through Indian Classical Dance

With roots extending back more than 3,000 years, Bharatanatyam is an Indian classical dance tradition through which sacred stories, divine beings, philosophical ideas, and cultural values come alive in the body. Students explore expressive hand gestures (mudras), expression (abhinaya), and rhythm (tala) while encountering stories from Indian mythology. These elements blend to create movements that are at once crisp and fluid, playful and devotional, carrying generations of history and wisdom through dance.

Dance Around the World

Global Adventure Through Music and Movement

In this celebration of culture and geography, students learn foundational movements from traditions all around the world. Through intertwining geography, music, and customs, each destination becomes an opportunity to connect with people across space and time. Younger students move from country to country with expansive breadth, while older students delve deeper into the histories these movements carry, contemplating migration, exchange, and the meanings dances hold within their cultures. This kaleidoscopic approach allows every series to explore a unique constellation of countries and connections.

Storytime Out Loud, Perform for the Crowd!

Stories Brought to Life Through Acting and Movement

Storytime leaps off the page as children act, move, speak, and play their way through a tale. Through theatrical interplay, expressive voices, character exploration, and full-body movement, children deepen comprehension while building confidence and discovering that stories can be experienced together.
